Gift Of Stitching Creative Cross Stitch Challenge #5

Gift Of Stitching an online cross stitching magazine has been doing cross stitch challenges. I noticed their latest one and was intrigued. A simple cross stitch pattern that can be embellished and made into anything you would like to make it into, with one stipulation, you had to put something in the middle of the flowers, as the post stated it could be a button, bead, or whatever your imagination could think of to embellish it. As I belong to my local Embroider's Guild Chapter, I thought I would create a new name tag. You can never have too many name tag, lol. For my embellishments I used 2 gold bee beads, 3 size E beads in the center of the flowers. I used Caron's Wildflowers Spruce for the stems and leaves, and Sky Blue Pink for the middle flower and my name. I used DMC Perle 8 #552 for the Purple flowers and the floss for the back stitch around my name. For the back stitch around the stems and leaves I used DMC floss #502. It was a quick stitch. A bit harder to do the finishing on it, lol. But all in all I'm happy with the results of the piece and will be looking forward to wearing it in the future to a meeting.
