Stashmas Gift

Hello. Yesterday I celebrated Stashmas. It's a program that is done on the Cross Stitch Forums I belong too. They realize that everyone doesn't celebrate Christmas but should still be able to have a gift in the month of December. My Stashmas partner who sent to me was JazzeyBear (sorry no blog). She sent me a lovely cross stitch kit with the saying live, love, & laugh, a piece of antique white 28 ct. Jobelan, and 4 Perle Coton balls. Here is a picture:

The piece of Jobelan I can't wait to start stitching on that, possibly a piece of Hardanger....hmmmm. The possibilities are endless.

Thank you again Jazzey. The stash you sent has come to a good home and will be loved for a long time :-).

Hooked on Stitches Blogoversary Giveaway

A blog I discovered through Golden Angel Works is having a blogoversary giveaway of a lovely stitching by the owner of the blog Hooked on Stitches. Her name is Angela and she is giving away a choice of three different finishing techniques for a stiched piece by her if you follow her blog. Here is a picture of one of the finishing techniques you can choose:

It's a box. I think by far this is my favorite finishing technique she does out of the 3 she shows. Don't get me wrong I like the pillows and the flat-folds too, but there's something about having a box to put your stitching stuff in or a secret treasure. :-)

Scissors Fob Received in England

My Cross Stitch Forums Exchange Receiver received her fob on April 6th. I'm glad it arrived safely and intact there relatively quickly from the states :-). Here is a picture of the fob I sent:

Included in the package was a light yellow 28 Ct Jobelan and a Bunny cross stitch kit. I did the fob in Assisi and used an overdyed silk from Caron. I am enjoying my time as a member of the Cross Stitch Forums.

I'm sorry I'm late in posting this, but you must know that I've been sicker than a dog the last few weeks. Now I'm suffering from laryngitis and anyone I talk to on the phone now can distingush me from my family, yay, I think, lol.

Scissor Fob Exchange

I joined a new on-line community recently and jumped right into the exhcange that was currently open. It was a scissor fob exchange. The theme was Easter. I've finished mine and will be sending it off next week, probably Monday :-). I recevied my fob from Linda. (Click on Linda's name to see her work). I thoroughly enjoyed receiving the fob she put together for me. Here is a picture:

She also included atwo DMC flosses one a Christmas green and the other a varigated orange, and a piece that is bookmark sized of an 18 ct Aida handdyed and called Autumn Splash. I think I have a bookmark in mind for this color.

Thank you so much Linda for a lovely package :-).

Frog Exchange

I belong to the I Love Cross Stitch yahoo group (<--Click on I Love Cross Stitch to go to the ILCS group site). Recently, they lost a long time member named Rene. In honor of her memory they decided to hold a froggy exchange, she loved frogs :-). It could be anything that was small; a bookmark, scissor's fob, needlekeep, etc. I looked on the internet and I found on-line a free pattern for a frog biscornu (<--Click on Frog Biscornu for a link to the site of the pattern). I selected that as my pattern before knowing who I was going to end up with in the exchange, fortunately, I ended up with Mel from Calgary (<--Click on Mel from Calgary to go to her blog). She didn't have a preference for the finished product, whew. We also were to include 3 specialty threads in the package. I chose a silk thread from Thread Gatherer's in orange overdyes, Weeks Dye works Violet, and a Rainbow Gallery Pebbly Perle. I thouroughly enjoyed this exchange and am glad that it arrived safely in Calgary after the weather we had experienced here in Colorado. Well here are the pictures of the items:
